CAARPR: 2019 Human Rights Award Dinner

On Saturday, September 21, the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression (CAARPR) will be holding its annual Human Rights Award Dinner, in which this year’s recipients of the Human Rights Award are honored. The event will also feature a keynote address by Timothy V. Johnson, a historian of political causes on the left and formerly the Director of the Tamiment Library and Robert F. Wagner Archives at NYU.

Among the honorees for 2019 are the Chicago Alderman Jeanette Taylor, Executive Director of the Arab American Action Network Hatem Abudayyeh, both of whom are vocal proponents of CAARPR’s Civilian Police Accountability Council initiative. Awards will also be presented to Susan Gzesh, Executive Director of the Pozen Family Center for Human Rights at the University of Chicago, as well as the No Cop Academy Campaign.

Tickets to the dinner are $65 when purchased in advance ($70 at the door), with $10 tickets available for attending the program only.
