CCDBR & LPL: Digital Security Training
On January 12, the Chicago Committee to Defend the Bill of Rights will host Lucy Parsons Labs for another digital security training session. In their presentation, members from LPL will cover various digital security topics including online privacy, encryption, and more. The session will be held in an open forum format, in which participants guide the discussion as they choose.
In hosting this latest installment of LPL’s digital privacy training series, CCDBR is proud to continue its partnership with LPL which has included joint work to defend net neutrality and presentation of Freedom of Information Act workshops. LPL has been a staunch advocate for government transparency in Chicago and regularly collaborates with civil liberties organizations and journalistic institutions in the city (and around the country).
The session is free and open to the public. Additionally, in the interest of preserving the privacy of all attendees, no registration is required and participants are not required at any point to state their name or otherwise identify themselves. Participants are also encouraged to bring their smartphones, laptops, or other networked devices to learn how to configure them for online security and privacy.
