Chicago Committee against Racist and Political Repression: Celebration with Reginald Robinson
Join the Chicago Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression on January 27 for a fundraising concert with world-class pianist Reginald Robinson. In addition to Robinson’s performance, the evening’s festivities will include a buffet, cash bar, and silent auction, with proceeds going toward the campaign to enact CAARPR’s flagship Civilian Police Accountability Council (CPAC) initiative.
CPAC is a proposed measure that would create an elected body with the power to oversee the Chicago Police Department, including to approve and deny hiring and firing of officers as the community deems appropriate. The fundraiser aims to empower CAARPR to continue its activist work urging the City of Chicago to adopt the proposal.
Tickets to the event are $40, with $20 tickets available for students and individuals from a low-income background. To purchase tickets, and for more information on the event, see CAARPR’s event listing here.
