Open University of the Left: Why Chicago Leaders Hate the Homeless
Actvist Andy Thayer, in collaboration with the Open University of the Left, will be presenting a talk on the staggering shortcomings of Chicago housing policy and their disproportionate (and often deliberate) destabilizing effect on the homeless in the city. The talk will address the city’s most recent action to displace the city’s homeless, the eviction of the so-called “Tent City” from the Lake Shore Drive underpasses in Uptown, and the legacy of policies such as this throughout Chicago’s history.
Attendance to the event is free and requires no ticket.
