UIC: Honoring the Social Justice Career of Prexy Nesbitt

The Social Justice Initiative at the University of Illinois Chicago will be honoring the distinguished career of Prexy Nesbitt on Wednesday, October 2. As Nesbitt prepares to depart Chicago, UIC and other members of the Chicago activist community will convene to recognize the extraordinary legacy of community organizing, anti-racist campaigning, and union advocacy that Nesbitt has left.

The event will begin with presentations on the historical context of Chicago over the course of Nesbitt’s career, followed by remarks from his many colleagues. In conclusion, attendees will hear closing words from Nesbitt and be invited to a reception.

The event is free and open to the public, but attendees should register for the event on Eventbrite. For more information, and to complete the registration process, see the Eventbrite page here
