Patriot Act Gets the Filibuster Treatment from Sen. Rand Paul
Posted on May 20, 2015
With the Patriot Act due to expire at the end of the month, Rand Paul took the Senate floor this afternoon to speak at length on why the Senate should let it go gently into that good night.
While other GOP presidential hopefuls have supported extending the unconstitutional and illegally implemented legislation, Paul—who is known for his Libertarian views—has expressed a staunch desire to end the National Security Agency’s (NSA) program that has enabled bulk collection of civilian phone records.
Paul plans to deliver as long a speech as he’s physically capable on the matter.
