June 14, 2012: “CHICAGO (AP) — Cook County State’s Attorney Anita Alvarez contends Illinois’ gay marriage ban is unconstitutional and is filing a motion supporting a lawsuit opposing the law.
Alvarez said Thursday she agrees with the plaintiffs’ assertion Illinois’ Constitution upholds marriage equality for same sex couples just as it does for opposite sex couples.
Cook County Clerk David Orr says he has filed a response in which he agrees with the lawsuits filed against his office………………….”
