Associated Press — March 27, 2012: “A hearing is under way in Chicago on whether activists will be able to get a parade permit to protest during the NATO summit May 20.
An official for the city’s transportation department testified Tuesday about why he denied a parade permit even though it was identical to one he’d approved for May 19. Chicago Department of Transportation Assistant Commissioner Michael Simon says his denial was based on police department concerns about handling the movement of more motorcades through the city compared to those expected for G-8…………….”
