Annie Sweeney — December 4, 2012: “A federal civil trial targeting former Chicago police Cmdr. Jon Burge was postponed Monday just as a jury was about to be picked.

A lawsuit alleges that Burge and other detectives covered up evidence decades ago that would have exonerated a man who ultimately spent 26 years in prison for a murder he didn’t commit.

U.S. District Judge Elaine Bucklo put off the trial until Dec. 17 but was vague about the reasons………………….”
